The making of Malpua started from Goner town of Jaipur and is now famous all over the country. There are about 70-80 shops in Goner town, 25 km from Jaipur. Where Malpuas are made. One such shop is Tambi Malpua shop. This shop is 80 years old, which is now being managed by the third generation. Shop owner Dinesh Tambi says that malpuas are being made in this town for 500 years.

Malpua is offered to Jagdish Maharaja of Goner. For this reason it became famous as the Prasad of God. In Goner you will find ready to eat Malpuas all the time and packing facility is also available. Malpua is in demand in weddings and other family and social events. That’s why Malpua is so famous. The Malpua here goes to different areas of Jaipur and Rajasthan. Tadka Daal, Chilli Tapore and Kheer are also very popular along with Malpua in Savamanis and religious programs held in Goner. Due to which the taste of Malpua gets enhanced.
This is how malpua is made
Malpua is made from plain wheat flour and a sweet solution of milk, which is fried in pure desi ghee in a large sized pan for a few minutes. After being properly cooked, it is then immersed in sweet sugar syrup. In a few minutes, it is taken out of the sugar syrup and kept in a big utensil.

It does not take much time to make malpua, apart from desi ghee, malpua is made in oil as well and it is also delicious. Malpua made of pure desi ghee is available at Rs.200 per kg and oiled malpua at Rs.100 per kg.
